September 2011

We think of you and your family in that difficult land.  Europe against God is also difficult to live in but less so I think than the RSA.

Last April I was perturbed by the “Christian Sabbatarian” doctrines from [two churches].  Your book [The Sabbath and the Lord’s Day] came to my rescue and relieved me of the burden I felt obliged to carry.  By grace I have the Lord’s Day Rest and not a Mosaic burden.  I had been strongly tempted to go backward and enjoy (or suffer) doing works.

We continue to enjoy and learn much from the Revelation sermons.  We are now on Chapter 4…. It’s funny, the day after listening to the first part on the Church in Laodicea, I had the strangest encounter with a woman who, unfortunately, exactly fits the lukewarm “Christians” of that church.  Your description of what it means to be lukewarm is so good and really opens your understanding even more as to what makes these deceived people tick. I was one myself before truly being converted…

I received all the CDs intact yesterday and I listened to The Cleft of the Rock and Set for the Defence of the Gospel.  I have enjoyed them thoroughly.  The first mentioned has thrilled my heart so much.  What a great Saviour we have!  Can we ever understand enough!  We are so feeble.  Thank you for such wonderful messages.  May the Lord bless you abundantly, Shaun!  In these days sermons are often so full of the preacher and his family or about what this or that one said.  I am so grateful your messages are full of Scripture and I appreciate the way you compare Scripture with Scripture.  May the Lord raise up ministers who will preach the Word and not be sidetracked by all the modern fancies.

Thank you again for such a wonderful straightforward ministry.
