16) Recommended Books from Other Sources

Recommended Books (and a few DVD’s) on Roman Catholicism and Related Topics Available from Other Sources

Please Note:
These excellent books are not available from us, but as a service to our brethren in Christ we provide this list, and we highly recommend them. We do not endorse every statement in every book; but for the edification and instruction of the Church of Jesus Christ, we desire to introduce Christian brethren to sound literature. Only Scripture is divinely inspired; men are fallible, and so are their writings. You are welcome to contact us regarding books, authors, etc., and we will readily share whatever information we have.

A list of publishers and booksellers is given elsewhere on this site, and many of the books recommended below are available from one or more of them. Many others are out of print, but these may at times be obtained from second-hand bookstores, or by means of the internet or inter-library services. This list consists only of books which have been either published, or republished, since the beginning of the twentieth century. The date of publication given for any book below is usually (but not always) when the book was originally published by the publisher mentioned – in many cases it has been reprinted since then.

PROTESTANT CLASSICS

There are some books which every Christian should own and read, because they are Protestant classics.  Once upon a time, when books were not as readily available as they are today and poor people only owned a few, the small personal library of a poor Christian would consist of the King James Version of the Bible; John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress; and John Foxe’s Book of Martyrs. Today, although there are a multitude of books available, there are a handful which can truly be considered classics, books which have stood the test of time and/or stand out above all others, and should as far as possible be owned and read by every Christian.  Here we are only listing those of a distinctly Protestant nature; there are of course others (such as Pilgrim’s Progress) which are Christian classics as well.

These are the great Protestant classics, timeless treasures for the Christian Church.
