The Bible: The Word Of God
If the Bible is not the Word of God, divinely inspired by God, then there is no difference between the Bible and any other book. If the Bible is not the Word of God, its origin is earthly, not divine. And if this is so, then Christians have, as their foundation, the feeble words of fallible men.
The Scriptures claim to be “able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 3:15); yet, if they are not the words of God, but merely the words of weak, sinful men, then how can they make anyone wise unto salvation? How can anyone be certain they are trustworthy?
If the Bible is not the Word of God, then what fools Christians are!

The Inspiration Of Scripture
The Bible declares itself to be THE WORD OF GOD. And yet we know that men took writing materials in hand, and wrote the words down. If men penned the words, how can it be the Word of God? This is an important question, needing a scriptural answer.

The Incomparable King James Version
In the year 1611, an English version of the Bible was published, more accurate than any English version that had ever been produced before it, or that has ever been produced after it: the Authorised or King James Version.
There are those who would challenge that statement; but not one could ever prove it to be false. The evidence supporting it is simply overwhelming.

The Eternal Sonship Of Christ
Did the Second Person of the Trinity only become the Son of God at his incarnation, or was he, from all eternity, the only begotten Son of God?
Through the centuries, various men have fought against the doctrine of the eternal Sonship of Christ, and are doing so today. A clear, biblical defence of the truth is desperately needed.

The Doctrines Of Grace
Such is the state of professing Christendom today, that multitudes will not even know what we mean when we speak or write of those doctrines which, collectively, have become known as the doctrines of grace. A different system of doctrine is in vogue today: a system that exalts the will of man, the creature, and rejects the sovereign will of God, the Creator. It is an immensely popular doctrinal system, certainly; but it is, emphatically, not a scriptural system.

The Duty Of All Men To Repent And Believe The Gospel
All men are depraved by nature, conceived in sin (Psa. 51:5), born dead in trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1). There is none righteous, no, not one (Rom. 3:10); and none can earn salvation by their own works (Eph. 2:8,9). God, from all eternity, elected some (Eph. 1:3-6), from every nation under heaven (Rev. 7:9-14), to obtain salvation by Jesus Christ. Christ died for the elect, and the elect alone (Matt. 20:28; Jn. 10:11; Eph. 5:25). In his divinely appointed time, the Father draws each one of the elect to Christ his Son, by his irresistible grace (Jn. 6:37,44); and, being so drawn, each one comes, repents of his sins, and trusts in Christ alone for salvation (Jn. 6:37; Acts 13:48). And, having been saved by faith in Christ, the elect are saved eternally (Jn. 6:37; Rom. 8:29,30).

Are Some Roman Catholics Christians?
One often hears people within evangelical churches say, “Yes, Roman Catholicism is a false, antichristian religion, and most Roman Catholics are unregenerate; but there are some, at least, who are true Christians, and who remain within the institution, either out of ignorance, or from a desire to serve the Lord from within the system, instead of from the outside.”

THE JESUITS: The Secret Army of the Papacy
The Roman Catholic Jesuit Order, which also arrogantly calls itself the “Society of Jesus”, is little known, much less understood, today. And yet, not very long ago, this organisation was so well known, that “Jesuitical” was a most derogatory term; the Order was outlawed from almost every Roman Catholic nation; and it was feared and loathed by the inhabitants of all enlightened nations.

Why was this the case? What vile doctrines did the members of this Order hold, and what evil deeds had they committed, to cause such universal reactions against them?

Jesuit Secret Agents
The Jesuit Order of the Roman Catholic institution is the most diabolical of all Roman Catholic orders; the most fanatical, the most dangerous. Ever since its inception in the sixteenth century, it has stopped at nothing in the relentless pursuit of its goal: to destroy all enemies of the Papacy, and to enchain the world to the feet of the pope of Rome.

Gunpowder, Treason and Plot

November 5th! Guy Fawkes Day. Fireworks. Excited children piling sticks around the “guy” - an effigy of a man - which is then consumed in a bonfire. The author has childhood memories of Guy Fawkes Day in Rhodesia. In England, of course, it is a much bigger event.

But how did it all start? Who was Guy Fawkes, and why do people light fireworks and, in a macabre ritual, burn a “guy” in a bonfire?

Hollywood And The Christian
Entertainment! A vast and lucrative industry thrives on the almost-insatiable appetite of hundreds of millions of people for entertainment. Films, television programmes, and videos fill the eyes and ears of modern man with images and sounds designed to thrill him, excite him, make him laugh, make him cry, and make him lust.

The Great Whore Of Revelation
In the first century AD, John the apostle was given, by the Lord, an astounding revelation of things which were to take place in the coming centuries. In chapter 17, he describes “the great whore”: and the interpretation of this symbolic prophecy has not been left open to conjecture. There is only one institution that has ever fulfilled this prophecy. And the Holy Spirit, in the very same chapter, provides infallible evidence as to which one it is.
Vs.9 says: “And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.”
And vs.18 says: “And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”
From these two verses, we learn that the “great whore” of this chapter is a great city; in fact, “that great city” – the greatest of them all – which rules over the kings of the earth. And it is a city built on seven mountains (or hills).

Bible Prophecy Speaks Of Popery
We live in a day when various false religions, cults, and antichristian movements are being exposed in books, videos, seminars, and by other means. The professing “Christian” world is awash in information regarding Freemasonry, Satanism, Witchcraft, Communism, Islam, the Illuminati, and–more than any other these days–the New Age Movement. A glance through a bookstore will soon reveal that much of this “information” is deliberately designed to be sensationalistic, churned out by men and women of dubious spiritual qualifications and peculiar doctrinal persuasions, but evidently with enough business sense to recognize a bandwagon when they see one, and to waste no time in jumping aboard!

The Antichrist
Yes! That man, dressed in white, who looks so serene, who calls himself the “Holy Father”, who addresses vast crowds from a balcony in the Vatican, whose followers number over a billion of the world’s inhabitants — that man is the Antichrist! Of him the beloved apostle, John, wrote in the first century, saying, “ye have heard that antichrist shall come” (1 Jn.2:18). And come he did — precisely as prophesied in the Word of God.

Baptism: For Believers Only!
There is a command given in Acts 2:38. It is this: “be baptized” (Acts 2:38). It is a command found elsewhere in the New Testament as well. It is a command, like all biblical commands, which must be obeyed. And yet many, who should be baptized, are not; and many, who should not be baptized, are.
It is a great tragedy that the truth about this divine ordinance has been so completely distorted by so many. This state of affairs did not exist in the primitive Church. There was no confusion, nor argument, about who the true subjects of baptism were, or what the correct mode and real purpose of baptism were. But alas, that state of affairs did not last long: the devil introduced his own counterfeit, and to this very day the evil consequences are with us.

Adam And Eve
Is the account of the creation and fall of Adam and Eve merely an allegory, not to be understood literally? Or is it literally true? And does it matter, either way?
Evolutionists and theological liberals readily say that, yes, it is merely allegorical, designed to provide a convenient story to ancient peoples who were not able to grasp the real, scientific truth: that mankind evolved, over a period of millions of years. To such people, the theory of evolution is not theory, it is fact; and the Bible account of the creation and fall is a fanciful fairy tale. Most of the Protestant denominations are riddled with these theological liberals. They deny not only the Genesis account, but many other precious and vital doctrines of the Word of God as well, such as the depravity of man, the virgin birth, the resurrection, and the various miracles of both the Old and New Testaments.

Charismatic Doctrine In The Light Of God’s Word
There can be no doubt whatsoever that, within worldwide `Christendom’, the religious phenomenon of the twentieth century is the Pentecostal/Charismatic Movement. No other religious movement this century has enjoyed such universal and rapid growth, so that tens of millions of people around the world identify with it; and it continues to grow. Its supporters praise it as a worldwide “outpouring” of the Holy Spirit, a latter-day revival such as the world has never seen before, the most exciting and glorious period the Church has ever experienced since the first century.

The Exaltation Of The Old
What I am about to write may not go down well with many who name the name of Christ. But write it I must.
No, the title of this article is not a mistake! It says The Exaltation of the Old because that is what it is meant to say. Although I love the writings of many of the saints of past ages as much as anyone, I feel the need to issue a note of caution, and to rebuke what I believe is frequently nothing less than a worship of the Christian authors of the past, who are, it seems, perceived as being almost infallible by many today.

The Crippling Lie
Africa – the Dark Continent – is a continent in turmoil. Hundreds of millions of people across the length and breadth of this vast continent are being herded, like sheep, into the folds of Roman Catholicism, Marxism, and Islam. The rest continue to cling tenaciously to the age-old religions of Africa itself: ancestor worship, nature worship, etc.
The few Christians to be found in the poverty-ridden, disease-ridden hell-holes called `countries’ in black Africa, are crying out for assistance in proclaiming the Gospel of Christ to their people. Without Bibles, without Gospel literature – and without the money to procure them either – they desperately need the help of other, more well-off believers.

Contending For The Faith Against The Heresies Of Our Time
In addition to preaching the Gospel to the lost (Mk.16:15), and teaching all the Word of God to the saved (Matt.28:20), it is also the solemn duty of the Lord’s servants to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3); for they are “set for the defence of the gospel” (Phil.1:17). Thus, not only are they to be “holding forth the word of life” (Phil.2:16), but also, they are to be “holding fast the faithful word” as they have been taught, that they “may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers” (Tit.1:9). They are to actively and vociferously stand against the heretical errors of the age. When a servant of the Lord does this, then only will it be truly said of him, as it was of David of old, that he “served his own generation by the will of God” (Acts 13:36).
Every age has its heresies with which the Church must contend. Some are perennial — they are faced by the Church in almost every age. Romanism, for example, and Arminianism, are evils against which the Church of Christ has had to contend for centuries. Others, however, are peculiar to certain periods in the Church’s history.

Christian Couples And Contraception
In this article, the author is going to be giving scriptural teaching on a very sensitive subject. In earlier, less complicated and confusing times, it was very simple: a man and a woman came together in marriage, and as a general rule children followed. Contraceptive methods were practised - they have always been practised, in fact - but they were unsophisticated and frequently unreliable, nothing like the modern methods available today.
Yes, those were definitely less complicated and confusing times. Today, when couples marry (and Christian couples are not immune from this), they are swamped with advice and suggestions from all quarters: relatives, friends, literature, doctors, etc. They hear dire warnings of the consequences of “not using some form of birth control,” because “you surely don’t want children right away, do you?” The Christian woman, especially, as she plans for marriage, often comes under great pressure to use certain “birth control” methods, never examining what the Scriptures have to say on this matter, nor the harmful effects on her own body, nor the tragic and horrifying results of using certain methods which in fact are nothing less than forms of abortion!

Computers: Their Use And Abuse
The world has undergone a technological revolution. We now live in the Computer Age, and we’ve been told that it’s a wonderful thing, changing our lives for the better. But we’ve been lied to. It’s nowhere near what it’s cracked up to be.
Far too many Christians have fallen for the advertising hype, and spend far, far too much time “surfing the net” or simply playing on their computers, idling away the hours. Most people now have to use computers to some extent for work purposes, and in fact as work tools they certainly have their place. But when Christians come home from work, and then proceed to frit away their evenings in front of their own PCs, hour after hour and night after night, then it’s time to stop and take a good, long, hard look at exactly what’s happening. Computers are part of this world; and although, as the text above says, we can use the legitimate things of this world, we are never to abuse them! We are to redeem our time.

Feminism
The Bible teaches that women are equal to men as human beings, albeit with different roles to play in the home and in society, and with different strengths. Man, having been made stronger than woman by the Creator, has been made by Him to be the provider and the protector. To husbands the Lord commands: “giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life” (1 Pet. 3:7); and, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it…. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies” (Eph. 5:25-28). No man should ever treat a woman with contempt, or abuse her in any way. All women should be treated with respect and gentleness by men.
