A sample of letters received
April 2008
Our purpose in publishing a sampling of the letters received, in the words of Arthur
W. Pink:
“…the time has again arrived for us to indicate to our loyal supporters before the Throne of Grace something of the manner and extent to which the Hearer of prayer has been pleased to grant their requests.”
“Our object in compiling this… feature is to evoke praise and thanksgiving on the part of those who are most deeply interested in this work, by quoting excerpts from some of the letters at hand telling of help and blessing received, under God…”
We know not why the mighty God should condescend to use one so feeble and unworthy; sufficient for us that He is pleased to do so. Our longing is to be used more widely, in sending ‘portions’ to a large number of Christ’s scattered and hungry sheep. Will you not pray more definitely, dear reader, that this may be so; and that God will graciously fit and furnish the writer.”

Let me again thank God for you, for sending us your teachings, we here were in darkness, we were holding on to Charismatic doctrine in the past, of which we used to believe in outpouring of the Holy Spirit, miracles, being filled and speaking in tongues, laying on of hands etc. Through your teachings we have learned that we have to test every spirit whether they are of God. Through repeatedly reading [your pamphlet exposing] Charismatic doctrine, through it we have seen we were in the wrong position.
At the moment we are [studying] The Doctrines of Grace [pamphlet]… It’s clear from your teachings that the Bible says that we are saved by grace through faith and not by works lest any man boast, and not all of us who call the name of Christ are saved…

Your article on Charismatic doctrine is very saddening. To tell those in the Body of Christ that gifts of the Holy Spirit are no longer evident today is to tie the people’s hands behind their backs. It is the reason so many Christians live defeated lives. I’m comforted in the fact that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone in your ministry. The gifts of tongues, healings, prophecy, they are still here today. Jesus said to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. We must keep ourselves grounded in the Word. Yet remember, the Word is Living. There will be revelation that comes into people’s lives that comes from God only. And will you deny that being prophecy about one’s life? Or will you deny how an alcoholic or a drug seeker is delivered from their addiction as a miraculous healing? This email is one to just say be mindful of how you treat a part in the Body of Christ.

I thank God for your ministry and for contending for the truth as it is in Jesus. Futurism, Pentecostalism, Catholicism and Materialism have so gripped the masses here in America and abroad that the growing apostasy appears to be unrelenting…
I was disturbed a few weeks ago, when upon entering a building where I was expecting to be meeting with other believers, to see a Christmas tree displayed beside the place where a man of God was supposed to speak the Word of God to His people. I will continue to visit your site and read the articles there. Thanks again.

I am still wondering how the thief on the cross in Luke 23 managed to be saved without the RC system being involved! Not in the least surprised by the pope’s comments [the article Rome Still Claims to be the One True Church], and saddened by their biblical ignorance.

I wish I could buy the materials. But I am unable to buy. Please send me whatever materials free of charge. I will be very happy if you do this for me. I would like to tell you some about myself. I grew up in a Roman Catholic family. I have been a member of the church since I was born, that is almost for 25 years. However, at this time many spiritual questions are appearing about the church in my mind. I am doubting if the church is doing what is right. I wish, if I study the Word of God with you to find the truth. I hope you like that. Please let me know what you think about my wish, and if you are able to send me materials.

(Gospel materials were sent free of charge – Shaun Willcock)
First of all Shaun Willcock needs to read about his/her own history. I know how painful it must be to be a descendant of evil people like whites but unfortunately it’s the truth of history that we can’t change, as an African this is an insult [i.e. one of our articles on the present South African situation – S.W.], Africans were treated as second class citizens but there was genocide too…. The motives of whites was to exploit and expulsion, and when the expulsion was taking place the genocide was taking place too, because the operation plan was to keep numbers of Africans as low as possible, what was happening on the plaas [farm] when the slaves were killed and buried on the farm by slave owners? Is that not genocide? Why did Israel trade with apartheid government guns to kill the Africans who were fighting for their rights in the townships? Africa was good enough without a white/European or any race who contributed to Africa’s suffering, we had traditional healers not witchdoctors, these terms were used by your evil ancestors who were trying to degrade our blacks, even today they are focusing on crime and corruption happening in Africa. What about crime in your descendants in Europe, tell us more about the functions of the EU to privatise a lot of things like water in Africa, because that’s how you are, you don’t get enough from hurting people so long as you fulfil your economy, everything was taken from us as we speak HIV/AIDS is a form of genocide, it is man made, it’s not coming from baboons, science is slowly proving these facts and I am convinced it is just like domestication of animals to inject diseases in Africans. Now that is your history Shaun!
This is not a justification but you whites always want to be reflected as good and continuously destroying other people, if you say we need to resolve our issues after all you have taken from us we can deal with our issues but we can’t resolve them alone because you are the cause so we need to come together and resolve them.
I know you were not there but it’s still a cultural debt and it needs to be paid, look around you, learn about history and look who still owns South Africa’s economy.
…your ancestors came to occupy SA, they came with the Bible and misused it.

(This man’s letter is all over the place, and is full of historical inaccuracies and racist hatred towards whites. He calls blacks “Africans” but does not call white-skinned Africans by the same name, yet they are as African as he is. No, Africa was not in good shape before the European nations came, it was full of murder, slavery, disease, cruelty and witchcraft. Like many, he implies that Africa was a kind of paradise before the Europeans arrived, but this is nonsense. Yet after his long tirade, he still expects that the “evil whites” should “come together” with blacks to resolve Africa’s problems. Most tragic of all is his attitude to the Holy Scriptures, the Word of God. Today the Bible is being terribly distorted by “liberation theology” preachers throughout Africa; but many godly missionaries brought the true Gospel to Africa from Europe long ago. – Shaun Willcock)
I look forward to reading your book when it becomes available. In the meantime, I am currently studying the Sabbath lesson from your tape series entitled Is There a “Christian Sabbath”? It is very, very helpful. Thank you for being such a devoted teacher of God’s Word. The detailed scriptural support that you provide is very good. I hope you are all well. Please take care.

Greetings! I received your books this week! Thank you so much! I got so excited, that I even failed to choose which one to start with! At least now I am better, so I will start today and be blessed! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

Thank you for your article on the RC Institution’s declared position in the ecumenical movement. May it open many Christians’ eyes. Thank you for all your “politically incorrect” articles…. Thank you for all the work that you have done through the years. Our eldest daughter and her husband watched “Faith Like Potatoes” and then had some questions about it. They found your critique on that excellent and it helped them a lot to understand many things in the movie. They realize how powerful the visual media is and how false doctrine can so easily be promoted through that. Had it not been for your critique, which I could send to them, they would have been very confused.

Another excellent article, Shaun! [The Jesuits: the Secret Army of the Papacy] Thanks so much! Your writing is clear and accurate. Many people are so ignorant of the dangers of Popery (in general) – and they are especially unenlightened about the Jesuit Order. Your paper is extremely helpful and I plan to share this information with many. Although I must admit, sadly, the more I try to share the truth with professing believers, the less (and less) they seem to care about the vital importance of guarding and defending the Christian faith. In fact, many seem to display extreme hostility toward those who are only trying to help them in the area of Biblical discernment. Thank you for your hard work and God bless you and yours.

Thanks for the South Africa update [South Africa: the Lights are Going Off]…. “Go to bed and grow” – wow, what a solution to a lack of electricity. I sympathize with those who are staying put through this disaster.

I picked up your article on the Eskom-crisis on the —– website and followed the links to your ministry. It was very refreshing and it was like running into a fellow member of a small, denigrated but still vigorous little band. I then read your article on Faith Like Potatoes and heartily concur with your conclusions. I only saw the movie on television over December and I was enormously disturbed by it. It is projected with such arrogant, feel-good posturing; such an overblown regard for its own moral position. The cap-line was Frank’s [the main character’s] concluding statement to his adoring farm workers while fondling a freshly-harvested potato: Faith must be like this potato. You must be able to feel it. This is of course classic Hagin/Copeland theology which contends that faith is a tangible force to be sent out to do the believer’s bidding.
I also heartily agree with your stance on the Roman Catholic church. Surely, there has been no more evil organization in the history of the world.

Thank you for all your trouble in answering all my questions. I know you are very busy and things like these are time consuming. The one on the Textus Receptus and the Majority Text has been especially helpful…
A friend with some knowledge about other troublesome areas in South Africa warned that our water is a cesspool as we all should know by now. Very soon clean water could also be a thing of the past. Petrol supplies are also going to affect our lives negatively. May the Lord help us not to become bitter, but to look to Him for all our needs, our safety and specific direction. We are not living in easy times. It might prove very difficult for us who grew up in peaceful and convenient times. I saw a photo of Nigeria’s miserable electricity poles and lines, and wondered how long it is going to take for us to get to such a state of neglect and incompetence. The Lord knows that and what we are going to face…
We desperately need the Word of God to be preached in our country. It is very possible that our country will be in ruins before the Lord comes back. May our Lord and Saviour keep you and your family in good health and filled with much hope in Him as we live in a hopeless country. May we be salt and light for those around us.

Last month I listened to your teaching tapes on Liberation Theology and it was very good – yet so very, very tragic for the ones who are caught up in that lie.

Nice that you can condense a huge history into a concise article [The Jesuits: the Secret Army of the Papacy]…. The electricity issue in SA hit news here a bit, at least in the fine print and yet it will absolutely escape everyone the connection between the ANC and the issue which is being reported. The way people perceive or think about SA is just a total aberration to any other country in the world. It demonstrates the epitome of media brainwashing…. People cannot and will not tolerate anything but the politically correct line even if it counters their own thinking in most other areas.

We read your latest article [South Africa: the Lights are Going Off] – wow! It’s shocking, but not surprising, knowing what we do about the ANC. What foolishness. The mind cannot fathom such stupidity. We are praying for you… that the Lord will see you through this trial…
The other day we met up with our Christian friend who we loaned the sermons on Daniel to. She loved them and is planning on ordering more sermons! We were very happy to hear all of her positive comments.

I think your articles on Jesuits are all a hoax. It’s like the hoax about the Knights of Columbus that has circulated for a hundred years.

(The above was from a Pentecostal man who was told by an ex-Jesuit he knew that there was little or no truth to such things. Even assuming this ex-Jesuit is genuine, just because he was once in the Jesuit Order does not mean he knows everything about it. Very few Jesuits know more than just a little about the Order. – Shaun Willcock)
Friend I deeply appreciate your website…. It’s a crying shame to see what has happened to Rhodesia. When I read your website it is obvious that you understand the filth and rot of Rome… hopefully you are not working with her compiling data to kill those who disagree with the Whore at some later date…. Brother William Branham told us plainly not to fear communism, not the iron curtain, but to fear that Purple Curtain. Rome is the Whore…. Can you honestly fathom the fact that two nations, one Rhodesia and the other South Africa which had two of the greatest revival periods ever, one with John Graham Lake and the other when William Marrion Branham paid a visit, are now in utter chaos and ruins? Well looks like the Whore did her job well there in the south African nations.

Our Reply:
[William Branham] was a heretic and a hoaxer and not to be trusted in any sense. He was under occult influence, and taught outright heresy. He said some true things about Rome but that does not make him a sound Gospel minister in any sense. There was no revival in SA under Branham and indeed there could not be, as he did not preach the true Gospel of the grace of God. We do have a taped set available entitled William Branham: Heretic and Hoaxer…
Shaun Willcock
(To which this man again wrote as follows)
Dear Sir, the easiest way for one to find out if another truly stands on GOD’S WORD is to simply mention Brother Branham. You say he was not instrumental for revival in South Africa. You are sadly uninformed, mistaken or simply refuse to believe historic events. You would probably say that John G. Lake was also not instrumental for revival in South Africa [yes, that is exactly what we would say!– S.W.]. But such is so according to history during the time period of the founding of the Apostolic Faith Mission…. Brother John G. Lake received a higher experience, a richer glory in reception of the Holy Ghost after attending a meeting in the home of F.F. Bosworth. The credibility of F.F. Bosworth cannot be questioned by any man filled with God’s Spirit and F.F. Bosworth put his full approval on the ministry, words and works of brother William Branham. Now when God vindicates your words, spoken either in person or in printed material in accordance with Mark 16 – divine attestation – then you will still have no room to talk until you have room to talk better you keepth the ole trapeth shuteth Brother. God be merciful to you.

(If the reader found this letter difficult to follow he is not alone and in fact we “cleaned up” much of the letter before reproducing it here. The writer actually gave himself a different name when he wrote the second letter! Sadly his remarks are so typical of so many Pentecostals and Charismatics: if a favourite Pentecostal preacher says something or does something, then it is true, it is genuine, it is of God – and woe betide any man who dares question it! But in addition, this man is a disciple of the heretic William Branham, one of the greatest frauds of twentieth century Pentecostalism (and it is a movement filled with frauds). Branham, for a Branhamite, is the final authority. Everyone is judged according to what they think of Branham. Branhamism is a terrible, soul-damning cult. – Shaun Willcock)
I trust you are fit and well and am writing to thank you for the three articles on the Jesuits; I hope they will open the eyes of many people who are ignorant of the truth. I always read your articles with great interest, and in turn pass them on to whoever I think will benefit from them spiritually – including a few of my Catholic friends.

I know there are many in your part of the world who are bringing “another gospel” to the people of Africa, i.e. the charismatic/pentecostal movement seems to be very widespread there. By contrast, very few gospel ministers/missionaries appear to be bringing the truth as it is in Jesus. We sense there is a great need there for faithful gospel preaching/teaching ministries like yours. We have perused your site and have read your statement of belief, and some of your articles relating to Roman Catholicism, and more recently your article entitled Faith Like Potatoes, and are persuaded that you preach and teach the gospel of grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone, to His glory alone, as found in the Scriptures alone…
I have…included links to some of your articles on Roman Catholicism [on our blog], most notably Rome Still Claims to be the One True Church. As former Catholics converted to Christ, with most of our family members still under the hard yoke of Rome, we thought it might prove helpful in our witnessing efforts to them. May I have your permission to publish either the aforementioned article or the one entitled Are Some Roman Catholics Christians? directly on the blog?

Many thanks for the regular articles you send to me…. I recently received a copy of Satan’s Seat, and found it extremely well presented and informative… We are living in increasingly solemn times when the Vatican is using all its endeavours to defeat true religion and the European Union is now one of the main instruments it is using in Europe. May we do all we can to oppose the devil and fight the good fight of faith, constantly looking unto Jesus, who is the author and finisher of it. I wish you the Lord’s blessing.

Greetings, I came across the website whilst looking for other books by Shaun Willcock – as I have Satan’s Seat. I appreciate all his articles and have passed the link to all on my mailing list to hopefully open their eyes – to see the LIGHT – even on this DARK continent.
