Rome Applies A Psalm About Christ to Mandela, PDF format

"Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever." Psalm 45:2

These beautiful words are a prophecy about the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the King, the Messiah, and He alone is the One who is fairer than all others. The entire psalm, in fact, is all about Him. We know this because verses 6 and 7 are directly applied to Him in the New Testament, in Heb. 1:8,9. In these verses, Christ is called God.

He is the fairest among men: His human nature is incomparably fairer, more beautiful, than any other, for it was untainted by any sin; "yea, He is altogether lovely" (Song of Sol. 5:16). Grace is poured into His lips: He was given the Gospel of the grace of God to preach, and He did so in all its fulness, speaking the very words of God, for He was Himself God, and was given the Holy Spirit without measure (Jn. 3:34); and at all times gracious words proceeded out of His mouth (Lk. 4:22), speaking as no man had ever spoken before (Jn. 7:46). And as the psalmist says, God has blessed Him forever!

Well, we have always known that to many blind souls, Nelson Mandela, the former terrorist who became president of South Africa in 1994, is nothing less than a Marxist messiah. He has been praised and virtually deified by multiplied millions worldwide. Despite all he stood for, and the way he came to power, and the disaster he inflicted on once-great, once-free South Africa, he can do no wrong in the eyes of the mesmerised masses. To them, he is the greatest leader of all time, a living legend.
