The country is unravelling because of crime. But it remains to be seen whether the ruling African National Congress (ANC), consisting as it does of men and women who spent decades as terrorists, using horrendous violence to terrorise the population into submission and with the stated aim of making the country ungovernable, is either willing or even able to make South Africa the peaceful place it once was when the whites governed it. The likelihood of this ever occurring is extremely remote, to say the least, so long as the ANC continues to misrule this great country. An entire generation of young black men grew up without education, knowing only the law of the gun, thanks to the ANC’s diabolical policies when it waged its cowardly terrorist campaign against the State. And now they hope to reign in these young thugs? It’s not poverty that is the cause of violent crime in SA, as the ANC keeps telling us, and it’s certainly not the “legacy of apartheid”, as they also love to repeat ad nauseam. It’s the legacy of a terrorist war that turned an entire generation of black youth into brutal, sadistic killers. Former President P.W. Botha, when he was ousted from power, warned those within his own party who turned against him and started surrendering to the ANC that they would unleash wild horses that would destroy this country. How right he was! Except that the ANC is not merely a wild horse, it is a monster that is taking this country to the very brink of the abyss. What follows is a perfect example of what the Bible says: “The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted” (Psalm 12:8).
The Latest Crime Statistics Released by the South African Police
Statistics recently released by the police show an increase in the past year in the crimes that the majority of South Africans fear most: murder and armed robbery in their homes.
According to National Police Chief Commissioner Jackie Selebi, murders were up by 2.4% in the past year, and aggravated robberies by 4.6%. Armed robberies in homes were up by 25.4%. He admitted that house robberies are a problem, saying: “This is where the rapes, child abuse and vehicle hijackings take place. We’ll have to do something about it.” (The Witness, July 4, 2007). Yes, you will, Sir, and you should have done something about it a long, long time ago. You didn’t then, and we don’t expect much will be done now either.
Bank robberies were up by a staggering 118%. Business robberies were up by 52.5%. Cash-in-transit heists were up by 21.9%. Truck hijackings were up by 7.6%. Car hijackings were up by 6%. Commercial crimes went up 12.6%.
Burglaries in which there was no violence declined by 5.9%. The number of rapes also declined by 5.2%, and indecent assault was down 5.5%. There is, however, naught for our comfort in these figures, as the decline in these crimes is minimal, and rapes and assaults are still numbered in the tens of thousands.
What must also be kept in mind is that all these figures are official crime statistics released by the government, which has shown itself very reluctant, for years, to release the true facts about the crime holocaust in South Africa. These figures, then, must be treated with caution. In all likelihood, the real state of affairs is far worse than these figures indicate.
The Freedom Front Plus, an Afrikaner political party, said the crime statistics confirm the public’s view that crime is increasing and is getting out of control. “These statistics make South Africa an unsafe country to live in,” said FF Plus spokesman Pieter Groenewald. “The increase in robberies at residential properties, which have increased by 25,4%; murder, which has increased by 2,4%; robberies with aggravated circumstances, which have increased by 5,7%; and carjackings, which have increased by 6%, is especially upsetting. These crimes are all violent crimes, which make South Africa a violent country. From April 2001 until April 2007, 119 322 people have been murdered in South Africa and there have been more than three million victims just of assault. The world average for murder is five per 100 000 of the population, but in South Africa it is 40,5 per 100 000, i.e. eight times the world average. In spite of this, Nqakula [the Minster of Safety and Security] says that crime is under control and the outlook appears to be rosy. As long as the minister stays in this state of denial, crime will not be properly combated.”
Let us take a look at some of the horrific crimes being committed in South Africa today:
Torture Being Increasingly Used by Criminals in South Africa
Horrific torture is being increasingly perpetrated by black criminals on their victims, often simply for the sheer pleasure they derive from seeing their victims suffer. All the more so, if their victims are white.
What happened to one woman living in Pennington, on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) province, is tragically very typical of so many other cases. It was an “afternoon of absolute torture” for her, she said. Four black men broke into her home. She was grabbed by the hair and dragged into the kitchen. While three of the men searched through the house for valuables, the fourth kept her in the kitchen. He found a knife and started cutting off her hair; then he started making small slits on her hands. He took pleasure in seeing her fear. “He pushed me against the counter and said that he wanted to hurt me,” she said. “He had his hand on my thigh and kept telling me he was going to rape me. I told him to kill me instead but he said that he liked seeing women like me suffer. He continued whispering in my ear about all the things he wanted to do when his accomplices entered.”
The other three wanted to leave with the stolen goods, but her attacker seemed fixated on her, she said. They argued in Zulu. He was becoming very aggressive. He grabbed her arm and twisted it. Her hand was behind her back and the top half of her body was bent over. “He then picked up his knee and used it to hit me in the jaw. I had never experienced such pain in my life,” she said. He used a kitchen broom to repeatedly assault her. “He hit me with different things and after a while I blacked out.”
She woke up in a hospital with severe injuries. “The treatment is ongoing. I have had my jaw broken, a knee operation, and every time I look at the scars on my hands from the slits he made, I remember his wickedness,” she said.
A gang of black men hiding in the long grass when he went to close his farm gate attacked a 79-year-old white farmer near Kokstad. They stabbed him in his back and his hand, then threw him onto the back of his truck and drove to his homestead. There they forced him to open his safe and stole firearms, jewellery and cash. They also told him to boil a kettle of water when they were dissatisfied with the amount of money they got from him, after they dragged him, bleeding, through his house by a necktie. However, they changed their minds about pouring the boiling water onto him, tying him up with ropes and barbed wire instead. About five hours after the attack, he managed to free himself, and his farm labourers were able to drive him to his son’s farm on an open tractor, at about 10 pm and in a state of shock. He was rushed to hospital.
This was the second attack in two days on this man!
These poor people’s stories, sadly, are not at all uncommon. The woman at least was not raped, and neither she nor the elderly farmer was brutally murdered; but thousands upon thousands have been. It is as if hell itself has opened its mouth and its demons have swept across the land. Black criminals take delight in torturing, raping and murdering white victims, and the government, made up of so many black criminals itself, is doing almost nothing to stop them. The government has made it clear that it would shed no tears if most of the whites left the country. Over a million have left already, but for many of those left behind there is simply no way out. They are stuck here, they are South Africans as much as any black South Africans are, and the government needs to acknowledge this fact, and to start treating all citizens as equal before the law, and entitled to the protection of the State. But there is no indication whatsoever that this is going to happen.
Hijackers Blockade Freeway to Rob Motorists
Throwing concrete blocks onto a road is a common tactic in South Africa, used by black carjackers and thieves who attack motorists as they pull over to inspect the damage after they hit the blocks. Sometimes these are thrown onto the road from an overhead bridge. Another tactic is to put metal spikes on the road, forcing motorists to stop as their tyres deflate. At times, blacks simply stone cars as they drive past.
On the freeway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg in April, motorists were forced through an obstacle course of concrete slabs thrown onto the freeway by would-be hijackers. Seven vehicles crashed into the slabs in quick succession shortly after 8pm.
It is probable that in this case, the large number of motorists affected prevented anyone from being attacked.
In June, a young white woman was travelling with her 18-month-old baby son and her mother to their home near Bellair, just south of Durban. Their car stalled, and they saw two armed men walking towards them. The men demanded their cellphones and other valuables. “They then turned to leave,” said the young woman, “and my Mom tried to start the car. I wrapped my arms around [my baby] to protect him. The men came back for my Mom’s cellphone. They fired two shots, one hit my Mom’s hand and the other my hand. That bullet hit [my baby] in his back and came out through his stomach.”
The little boy was placed on a ventilator and was in a critical condition in hospital.
What kind of men would shoot at two innocent women and a baby? To break down on a road in South Africa these days is to court disaster. Living in this country is full of uncertainties - even going for a drive in one’s car is often a danger-filled experience these days! One just never knows what one is going to encounter that day. As far as possible, South African drivers do not stop or get out of their cars on freeways or other roads, not even in broad daylight. It is just too dangerous. Women are raped, men and women are murdered. And even little babies are shot by these criminal cowards.
Black Youth Kills His Grandmother and Mutilates the Corpse - and Gets a Mere 13 Year Sentence!
A 19-year-old black man from Ladysmith, who killed his 86-year-old grandmother and then cut out her liver and gall bladder to sell for muthi (magic potion), was jailed for a mere 13 years! And what was the judge’s reasoning behind such a lenient sentence? He said the young man had pleaded guilty, and that it was also plain he had suffered anguish for killing his grandmother. His demeanour showed his remorse, the judge said, which boded well for his rehabilitation!
So now a man’s “demeanour”, the fact that he “shows anguish”, is enough to get him an extremely lenient sentence! South African society has fallen so far that, instead of the death sentence being meted out for such a crime (as it should be), instead of even a life sentence being handed down, the murderer is sentenced to just 13 years. A mere slap on the wrist for murdering his own grandmother!
In his guilty plea, the man said he lived with his grandmother. One day he started arguing with her, he became angry and stabbed her in the chest with a knife. She fell down and died. He then said, “I realised that I needed to run away but I had no money. Then I thought of selling her body parts to a muthi practitioner to fund and make good my escape. Using the same knife, I cut open her chest and abdomen, and removed her liver and gall bladder. When I stabbed her I intended to kill her, but at no stage before the murder did I intend to remove her body parts. Only after she stopped breathing I thought of removing her organs.”
With sentences like this, is it any wonder that SA is engulfed in a crime wave of epidemic proportions? The police are frequently incompetent; yet even if they at times succeed in arresting a criminal, a judge hands down such a sentence as this! No wonder life is so cheap in SA. How far removed we are from the only appropriate punishment for the crime of murder: the death sentence (Gen. 9:5,6).
Brave Boy (12) Saves His Family During an Armed Robbery
A brave 12-year-old white boy saved his family’s lives by sneaking his father’s pistol to him during an armed robbery.
The family and some friends were attacked at their home in Pretoria in June, at about 10.30 pm. The attackers forced the boy’s parents and their friends onto the veranda. The boy managed to get away and got his father’s gun from the safe. He hid the weapon in his pants and sneaked it to his Dad. “I knew I had to do something,” said the boy, “so I went to fetch the weapon. I didn’t really think - just that I should help.” However, one of the robbers saw him give the pistol to his Dad, and opened fire. The father fired back until his pistol jammed. He managed to kill one of the robbers, although he and his wife were both shot, she in her ankle and he in his hand.
His mother said of her son, “[He] was the hero of the day. If it weren’t for him, we’d all be dead.”
Incredibly, so bad is the crime in SA that a spokesman for Netcare 911 said, “The 12-year-old boy has now been in three such incidents and was cool, calm and collected, as his Dad said.” 12 years old and he has been in three such incidents! This is the “New South Africa” so greatly lauded around the world.
Anti-gun activists are trying their best to disarm the entire South African population, but this is just another example of how a firearm has been used legitimately to save lives. The anti-gun crusaders would have the world believe that children should never be exposed to firearms, and that adults, even, should have their guns confiscated. But our forefathers knew and handled firearms, taught their children how to use them and conquered the wilderness; and this boy was wise enough to know the value of a firearm in the right hands.
Sadly, another 12-year-old boy was brutally attacked in his own home:
Boy (12) Stabbed by Robbers in His Home
A 12-year-old boy was home alone in the town of Heidelberg with his eight-year-old sister in July when a suspected robber entered the house and attacked him. His sister hid herself and was not harmed, but the boy was stabbed several times! He staggered outside to the pavement where he collapsed, and was found by a passing motorist and a neighbour. His condition was described as serious.
This cowardly criminal attacked and stabbed a child - not once but several times. A young boy was fighting for his life because criminals brazenly roam the streets of SA, and the government refuses to clamp down on them.
Violent and Degrading Rapes in the Little Town of Howick
Howick, a town in the beautiful midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, was subject to a spate of violent and degrading rapes in one weekend recently.
On a recent Sunday afternoon, four young people were having a braai (barbecue) at Howick Falls, a popular picnic and tourist site. They were attacked by a gang of black men, who robbed them of their cellphones and bank cards. But in addition, one woman among the youths was ordered to strip naked and have sexual intercourse with one of her male friends.
It was also alleged that when they went to report the matter to the police, they were treated in a degrading manner. The police officers allegedly burst out laughing after learning that the young woman was forced to have sexual intercourse with one of the male victims.
On the same day, a woman was violently raped and robbed at the same spot. She too was first made to strip, before the criminals took turns raping her. And then one of them was reported to have urinated in her mouth.
This is the kind of thing that is happening every single day all over South Africa. Young black men committing horrific crimes against others. No one is safe and no place is safe either - not even beautiful picnic spots. When the previous white government was in charge, one never heard of such things occurring. People could go to remote areas and picnic in safety. Now black Communists are in charge, and the country is a haven for rapists, murderers and sadists, who delight in torturing and humiliating their victims. And yet such is the calibre of policeman in the country today that he will even laugh at the things that happen to victims - for even if this allegation regarding the police is proved to be false, the fact remains that it does happen all the time. All moral restraint and moral decency seems to have been shed, and the police force itself is full of criminals hardly better than the ones they occasionally arrest.
A Violent Attack Very Close to Home
I drove out of my driveway, with my daughter and my parents in the car, in the middle of the morning on a beautiful day. Not five minutes later my wife, who was at home, heard two gunshots and looked out of the window to see our neighbour, a man of 71 who lives directly opposite us, falling onto the ground as someone drove off at speed in his pickup truck. She quickly picked up our other daughter and ran across the road to help. Our neighbour was conscious but had been shot in the stomach. He had got out of his truck to open his gate, and as he turned back to the truck he saw a black man sitting in the driver’s seat. He tackled him, and the man shot him and drove off in the truck. My wife called the police and an ambulance, and he was rushed to hospital where he underwent abdominal surgery. He is now recovering. The bullet had missed all vital organs and lodged in his hip.
We thank the Lord for preserving our neighbour’s life, and also for providentially protecting us. How easily it could have been one of us who was shot. Such is life in South Africa these days - from being one of the safest countries in the world when we were children, to being a country where our children will never be able to even walk down the street alone. Even playing in the garden carries much risk. But for the grace of God, my daughter, who rides her bicycle in our driveway mere metres away from where the incident occurred, could have been shot. And we live in a small, quiet town, in a pretty suburb, not in some crime-ridden inner city.
Corpse of a Suicide Victim Stripped Bare
Not even the dead are safe from criminals.
In early April, a man committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near the off-ramp of a freeway in Pietermaritzburg. The man had clothes on when his body was first seen by horrified motorists soon after 6 am; but when the police arrived, the body was naked. The corpse had apparently been stripped bare by robbers, as a number of people had been gathered near the body when motorists saw it.
