The ANC doesn’t care in the least about public opinion. This is the arrogance of a party that knows it is going to be in power for a very, very long time and can do as it pleases. As George Orwell showed so well in his classic Animal Farm, all men are equal, but some are more equal than others. In South Africa, if you’re a member of the ANC, it doesn’t matter what crime you may be guilty of, you’ll be treated like royalty. The loyalty of the ANC to a member who has served it faithfully for many years, knows no bounds. As far as the ANC leadership is concerned, if a man or woman fought against the previous white government, then he or she is virtually above the law, and no crime which he or she does deserves any real punishment.
Almost a Million Whites Have Left South Africa in the Last Ten Years!
This is an immense tragedy. According to the findings of the South African Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR), almost a million whites have left SA in the last ten years! The white population has thus shrunk from 5 215 000 in 1995, to 4 374 000 in 2005. This drop of 841 000 represents nearly one-fifth of the white population! SAIRR researcher Frans Cronje said these findings were “staggering”. “We didn’t expect it on that scale,” he said, describing the economic implications as “serious”.
H also said, “Those disappearing are members of the economically active sector who are employable overseas. The world has opened up to South Africans after 1994, making it easier for them to get jobs. In addition, the numbers of children have declined, which means that people in the 20 to 30 age sector are having their babies somewhere else.”
He added, “There are pull factors such as the demand for skills in established industrial economies in Western Europe and there are push factors, like affirmative action and crime back home.” Without question it is racist “affirmative action” and rampant violent crime that is driving whites out of the country they love. As Tim du Plessis, the editor of Rapport, put it, white Afrikaners, especially the younger ones, are “fed up with being demonised as nasty racists who have done nothing right, while they are constantly reminded of their ‘shameful’ history”. He said that “it is hard not to think there are elements in the ruling party who are hell-bent on taunting the white Afrikaners”. He was putting it mildly. There are not merely “elements” within the ANC who are doing this, but it is very clearly ANC policy to make life so unpleasant for whites, both Afrikaners and English, that as many as can do so leave the country. This is what the ANC wants.
He added that some blacks and Indians emigrate, but nothing like the numbers of whites.
Tony Leon, leader of the official opposition, the Democratic Alliance, said, “The reports raise important questions about the kind of nation that we are building and the future we envisage for all our children. There is no doubt that we can ill afford to lose such a substantial number of our citizens – regardless of their race.” He added: “All concerned South Africans should be worried by the steep rise in white emigration. The figures confirm a distinct trend, whereby large numbers of productive and skilled South Africans have chosen to leave their homeland for good. An overarching question suggests itself: why have they chosen to do so, and what are the likely consequences for the country?”
Leon referred to “the ruling party’s disturbing attitude towards minorities over the period under review” as a major reason for this exodus, “and the consequent perception this fosters amongst whites that their citizenship is undervalued. Put bluntly: the ANC government is not merely indifferent to the lot of minorities, especially whites, but in many instances has frankly expressed hostility to their interests”.
The leader of the Inkatha Freedom Party, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, said that government’s reckless implementation of “affirmative action” is forcing whites to leave the country, creating a skills shortage crisis. He said that white people needed to be offered incentives in order for them to stay. “We need to grant white South Africans a meaningful stake in the existing order… not only does this make economic sense, it is also in line with our vision of a non-racial South Africa”, he said. “If the majority of white South Africans had envisaged in the early 1990s the way affirmative action and racial classification would come to dominate the post-apartheid labour market, few would have voted yes in Mr (FW) de Klerk’s watershed referendum on constitutional reform.”[14] How true. The very reason the ANC is in power today is because so many white South Africans, in the days when they controlled the destiny of South Africa, voted to support de Klerk’s referendum proposals. Those whites who knew what was happening, spoke out against it, but the propaganda was too great and most whites went along with it, blindly. They were lied to, misled, and bullied into making the very changes that brought the ANC to power ultimately. If they had known, back then, that this would force them into second-class citizenship in their own country, the country they had built, they would never have done it.
