South Africa’s crime epidemic is now so vast that pressure is mounting from all sides, all sectors of society, all race groups, for the government to act, and act decisively.  The country is unravelling because of crime.  But it remains to be seen whether the ruling African National Congress, consisting as it does of men and women who spent decades as terrorists, using horrendous violence to terrorise the population into submission and with the stated aim of making the country ungovernable, is either willing or even able to make South Africa the peaceful place it once was when the whites governed it.  The likelihood of this ever occurring is extremely remote, to say the least, so long as the ANC continues to misrule this great country.  An entire generation of young black men grew up without education, knowing only the law of the gun, thanks to the ANC’s diabolical policies when it waged its cowardly terrorist campaign against the state.  And now they hope to reign in these young thugs?  It’s not poverty that is the cause of violent crime in SA, as the ANC keeps telling us, and it’s certainly not the “legacy of apartheid”, as they also love to repeat ad nauseam. It’s the legacy of a terrorist war that turned an entire generation of black youth into brutal, sadistic killers.  Former President P.W. Botha, when he was ousted from power, warned those within his own party who turned against him and started surrendering to the ANC that they would unleash wild horses that would destroy this country.  How right he was!  Except that the ANC is not merely a wild horse, it is a monster that is taking this country to the very brink of the abyss.  What follows is a perfect example of what the Bible says: “The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted” (Psalm 12:8).

Attacks on Households Increasing – and Public Anger Growing

The modus operandi of SA’s horrifying farm attacks is being seen in the increasing daily attacks on households in urban areas.  These attacks include robbery, rape, torture, murder, and carjacking.  “A few weeks ago the security company ADT warned its clients to lock their doors between 8 pm and midnight and to turn on their alarms during that time.  This means that residents can no longer be outside after 8 pm because of a great risk of being attacked, robbed and possibly murdered by crime syndicates.”[1] Actually, South Africans long ago became accustomed to never, ever leaving their security gates unlocked, even in broad daylight.

Here is how the criminals operate.  First, they pre-identify the residence they plan to attack.  Then, they reconnoitre to gather information about the property, the habits of the residents, whether there are firearms, the type of security system used, etc., etc.  And when they attack, they attack while the residents are at home.  The criminals are usually in groups of three or four, and armed with handguns or automatic weapons.  They make use of violence deliberately, to shock the residents into submission.  They wait for the residents in their driveway, and there the driver is forced to give them access to the house; or they enter the house while the residents are eating or sitting in their living room, or when they are having a braai (barbecue), or entertaining guests.

It is a generally accepted fact that the police can no longer be relied upon in many cases.  There are hard-working, honest, committed policemen, but unfortunately many policemen, being ex-terrorists themselves, under-educated, etc., are corrupt and incompetent.  Not only that, but they often have a “couldn’t-care-less” attitude.  So, residents are increasingly arranging for additional (private) security for themselves, if they can afford it.  Those working for armed-reaction security companies now outnumber the SA police force!  In some cases, residents are also apprehending criminals themselves – a very dangerous thing as it so easily degenerates into vigilantism.
