MINISTER OF SAFETY AND SECURITY: “PEOPLE WHO WHINE ABOUT CRIME CAN LEAVE THE COUNTRY”
In early June, South Africa’s Safety and Security Minister, Charles Nqakula, a Communist, said that people who whine and whinge about crime in the country can leave. His comments provoked fury and searing criticism from all across the political spectrum.
This is what Nqakula said in parliament: “They can continue to whinge until they’re blue in the face, they can continue to be as negative as they want to, or they can simply leave this country, so that all of the peace-loving South Africans, good South African people who want to make this a successful country, can continue with their work” (The Sunday Tribune, June 4, 2006).
Incredibly, this remark was made at the very time that South Africans were learning of the shocking rape of two siblings, the children of a man who lives in a poverty-stricken part of the country. The man’s nine-year-old son was dragged into the bushes and sodomised, and while the father was reporting the crime to the police, his five-year-old daughter was brought in. She had been raped.
It is difficult enough for South Africans of some means to emigrate; for a poor man like this father, it is impossible. For him, SA’s horrifying crime statistics, the highest on earth, are a terrible reality. The government’s duty is to protect its citizens; but it is failing dismally. As the leader of the official opposition Democratic Alliance, Tony Leon, said, Nqakula’s comment rubbed salt in the wounds of crime victims and their families. He called it “outrageous”. It was, and far more than that. The Inkatha Freedom Party spokesman for safety and security, Velaphi Ndlovu, said truthfully: “You don’t say to critics: ‘Leave the country’, when they are raising serious concerns shared by everyone. It’s almost as if he’s saying that he could not care less.” Yes, and why should he? He himself is unlikely to be a victim of crime. As Leon commented, “He [Nqakula] is arrogant, he is indifferent, he’s never been into the communities on his own, he never leaves his office without surrounding himself with four or five bodyguards. He doesn’t come and walk among the people…. He doesn’t know what it’s like to face murder; he doesn’t know what it’s like to be robbed; he doesn’t know what it’s like to have a knife held to you.”
After a Democratic Alliance MP (a white man) referred to SA’s “tsunami of crime”, Nqakula in reply in parliament said: “For the first time they [i.e. whites] are seeing the ugly face of crime, because apartheid so insulated them, that they did not see crime at all. So they think therefore that our country is tottering under such a wave of crime that he refers to it as a tsunami.”
What a statement! The reason we did not have a “tsunami of crime” when a white government was in power, was because that government was firm on law and order. Nqakula’s comment actually is an admission that black people commit most of the crime in SA! For if, when apartheid ended and whites and blacks were integrated, the crime wave went up, what does this tell us? And also, with tens of thousands of murders every single year, and tens of thousands of rapes, to pretend that SA is not tottering under a crime wave is pathetic in the extreme.
As the Minister of Safety and Security cannot protect South African citizens, and as he wants “whiners” to leave, he should offer to pay the expenses of all those who agree to go, enabling them to get settled in a new country. He might find however that the stampede for the airports would be so great, that his department would be bankrupted.
THE JACOB ZUMA RAPE TRIAL VERDICT
As the world now knows, South Africa’s former Deputy President, Jacob Zuma, was found not guilty at his rape trial. He still faces another trial in the near future, on corruption charges. His supporters went wild with glee. Ignored by many in all the excitement, however, are the following very important points: his sexual intercourse with an HIV-positive woman; his absurd statement about having showered afterwards as this would help protect him from contracting Aids (this from the man who headed the ANC’s own “Aids Awareness Campaign”, not to mention the so-called “Moral Regeneration Movement” which is supported by the liberal “churches”, whose leaders prayed publicly for Zuma during the trial!); and the fact that the woman in question has been whisked out of the country as her life is in danger from Zuma supporters, who, while the trial was in progress, hurled filthy obscenities at her and called for her violent death by burning.
But there’s something more, even, than all this, conveniently ignored of course by the liberal press, but which should never, ever be forgotten. So much ink has been wasted on the debate over whether Zuma is innocent or guilty of corruption. Are people only interested in financial crime these days? As bad as it is, there are worse things than this! Far worse. Zuma, and the vast majority of the men now ruling SA, are all former terrorists! Many of the men now sitting in the seats of parliament had no qualms about waging a terrorist war against South Africans in order to come to power, and didn’t bat an eyelid when innocent civilians were blown to bits by bombs, or necklaced when burning tyres were placed around their necks, or stabbed, or killed in all kinds of ways so that they could come to power. Even if Zuma is found guilty of corruption at his next trial, as bad as this is it should not concern South Africans (or the world) as much as the fact that the ANC is an organisation of terrorists and killers.
But people’s memories are short. The ANC has done such a great job of pulling the wool over the eyes of almost everyone, that its leaders are seen as morally lily-white, the innocent “victims of apartheid” who conducted an honourable and noble war against the State.
Even if Zuma is found innocent, he should never be exalted to President of South Africa. But then, nor should Mandela ever have been. Nor Mbeki. South Africans should consign this organisation, the ANC, to the dustbin of history, as having been a terrible blight upon the country, the effects of which should be erased as fast as possible.
Yes, this is what South Africans should do, at the next election. But is it going to happen, realistically? Not a chance. The ANC is here to stay for a good many years to come, thanks to the support it has amongst the black masses, who perceive it as the “party of liberation.” No matter what wicked deeds its leaders commit, they are forgiven for all of them.
FURTHER OMINOUS SIGNS OF ANTI-WHITE RACISM IN SA
First, there was the comment by Desmond Tutu, Anglican archbishop emeritus, that “I think our white compatriots have tended to be less than generous in their acknowledgment of what has come from their black compatriots.” (The Witness, April 22, 2006).
Always, the whites are castigated for supposedly “not doing enough”, or not being generous enough to blacks, or not making enough sacrifices. White South Africans are constantly being told that they are criminals, that they are evil, that they should pay, and pay, and pay, for the real and the mostly imagined “evils” of apartheid. Always, blacks are made out to be more generous, more forgiving, more tolerant. It is all such nonsense, such a distortion of the facts. And for once, former President F.W. De Klerk , the man who turned SA over to the black Marxists who now govern it, spoke up and said something very true: “Would it not be appropriate for black South Africans also to give more recognition to the contribution whites have made to the new South Africa? It required considerable courage for…whites… to overcome their reasonable fears and put their trust in their erstwhile enemies” (The Sunday Independent, quoted in The Witness, May 1, 2006).
We have no time for De Klerk. He put SA on the path that resulted in the ANC coming to power in 1994. It was a disaster of epic proportions, and all South Africans now live under the galling yoke of this monstrous organisation. But in this instance, he was correct. It is way past time for black South Africans to recognise the immense contribution white South Africans have made, and continue to make, to South Africa. And it is way past time that white South Africans were treated as equal citizens in the country of their birth. But this isn’t going to happen. The ANC derives too much mileage from demonising the whites, and blaming all the country’s ills on them. The truth is, were it not for the whites of this country, SA would be a basket case in every way. SA is the powerhouse of the Dark Continent precisely because of the contribution of the whites. They made it what it is. History speaks for itself. White expertise, work habits, drive, and moral fibre turned South Africa into one of the leading countries of the world. Plain and simple.
Second, there was the comment by Nkosinathi Biko, son of Steve Biko, who said, “As individuals they [whites] have made no contribution to the process of reconciliation”, in contrast to the willingness of “the victims of apartheid to embrace peaceful change in South Africa” (The Witness, April 22, 2006).
Oh sure - the blacks have all enthusiastically embraced “peaceful change.” Yep, well over 20 000 murders a year, 99% of them committed by blacks, shows just how they “embraced peaceful change.” Something like 1800 white farmers murdered since the ANC came to power in 1994, by blacks - this sure shows how they have “embraced peaceful change.” South Africa is the rape capital of the world - with the vast majority of rapes being committed by blacks, showing again their commitment to “peaceful change.”
In late 2000 there was an attempted campaign, spearheaded by white ANC member Carl Niehaus, to get as many whites as possible to sign a statement symbolically acknowledging that, whether as active “agents of apartheid” or not, they had collective responsibility for the “evils” of the system. “That campaign fell flat,” Biko said. “That should not have been the case.” Actually, Mr Biko, it should have fallen flat, and we are thrilled that it did! It appears that many whites are still not browbeaten by the intense ANC propaganda into believing that they are evil personified, because of apartheid. Such a notion should be rejected with the contempt it deserves. As I explain in my book, “Holy War” Against South Africa, apartheid was an attempt to find a solution to a massive problem in this part of the world. It was not the great Evil the Communists would like the world to think (although certain evils were committed under it). It was an imperfect solution, certainly, to a huge dilemma, one which has taxed the minds of people the world over at different times throughout history. We would ask Mr Biko and others who hold the same view as he does: would they be willing to accept “collective responsibility” for the evils of the present system? A system which self-righteously declares that it is “non-racial”, and yet perpetrates racial injustice upon white South Africans? A system which declares on paper that SA belongs to all its people, white as well as black, and yet is deliberately turning whites into second-class citizens, and turning a blind eye to the low-level genocide of white farmers, and tarring all whites with the same brush?
Third, there was the comment by Peter Vundla, head of the Presidential Black Business Working Group, that white South Africans “have not been behaving” and therefore demanding stricter regulations and legislation. “We need more government, more regulation, more legislation, because whites in this country have not behaved. When somebody doesn’t behave you have to come with a big stick,” he said (The Witness, May 25, 2006).
This man is calling for even greater government interference in all aspects of life, in true Socialist fashion - and all in order to control and restrict white South Africans even more. He wants to use a “big stick” to whip them into line, like naughty schoolchildren. And the world thinks that the “Rainbow Nation” is a reality, and that ever since this bunch of power-mad racist Marxists came to power, all is hunky-dory down here at the southern tip of Africa! White South Africans are in very real danger.
SOUTH AFRICA‘S NEW POOR
More and more white South Africans are being reduced to abject poverty in the ANC’s racist South Africa. The number of whites dependent on charity is growing all the time. This is because the ANC’s “affirmative action” policies (in reality, apartheid in reverse) have turned blacks into the preferred candidates for both civil service and private sector jobs. A decade and a half after SA’s white government voluntarily dismantled apartheid, white South Africans are finding it increasingly difficult to find employment. Apartheid simply changed colour (The Witness, March 30, 2006).
Between 2000 and 2004, the number of whites earning less than R500 a month grew by over 50%, while the number of blacks earning less than R500 a month decreased by half, according to a study conducted by the Standard Bank. For our overseas readers, how much is R500? At today’s exchange rate, it is the approximate equivalent of U.S. $80, or UK £45. Per month!
Today, many Afrikaans (and English) families, poverty-stricken, live in the many white squatter camps such as Kwaggaspoort Reddingsdaad, which consists of an old army building surrounded by tents, caravans, and wooden structures. Most of these squatter camps around Pretoria, SA’s capital city, are hidden, often behind houses. Impoverished Afrikaners, with their conservative Protestant work ethic, are too embarrassed to show just how poverty-stricken they have become. And it is through no fault of their own: it is the result of a Marxist government bent on eradicating all vestiges of white South Africa.
Sometimes up to a hundred people live on one small lot, which may be serviced by only one bathroom. At Kwaggaspoort Reddingsdaad, some sixty adults and fifteen children now live.
P.W. BOTHA: THE INTERVIEW
South Africa’s former State President, P.W. Botha, recently turned 90. He had been SA’s Minister of Defence during some of the most trying years in SA’s recent history, when the ANC and other terrorist organisations were waging a terror campaign against the country. He then became State President for a number of years, but was ousted in 1989 in an internal coup within the ruling National Party, resulting in F.W. De Klerk becoming president - and negotiating the surrender of the country to its enemies.
Ten years ago P.W. announced that he would no longer be giving any in-depth interviews. But Mark Williams of Thuthuka Productions felt that history would be well served if P.W. changed his mind. So he asked Cliff Saunders, a veteran South African TV journalist, to request an interview. And P.W. agreed.
After the interview had been conducted, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) was approached. But all the SABC TV stations, as well as eTV and MNet, found “excuses” not to screen it! As the SABC is, truly, the “voice” of the ANC today, they were quite obviously nervous about the forthrightness of P.W. Botha. Thuthuka Productions refused to be subject to this kind of ANC censorship, and decided to sell the interviews over the internet, on video and DVD.
Having seen it, I am not at all surprised that the SABC refused to screen it! It shows P.W. at 90 years of age is as sharp as ever. And he does not hesitate to condemn the disaster of ANC rule, and to call a spade a spade. He mentions the part played by the United States in helping to bring about SA’s downfall. He calls the terrorists just that - terrorists. Not “freedom fighters” as the ANC would want us all to believe. He mentions that Nelson Mandela, at his trial, made it clear that he was a Communist. He rejects the stupid notion of SA being a “rainbow nation”.
Watching it brought back nostalgic memories of another South Africa, one that disappeared not that long ago, but which, for those of us living here, seems a lifetime ago now: of a happier, better, safer South Africa; of a South Africa governed by men of integrity and principle, men who governed the country, not as their own personal fiefdom (unlike our present rulers), but for the general well-being of the country as a whole.
The sales launch of the interviews was held at a hotel in Wilderness, the town in the Western Cape province where Botha lives in retirement. As P.W. entered the room, walking with the aid of a walking stick, the audience rose to its feet and applauded. Thuthuka director Mark Williams confessed his trepidation about approaching P.W. for the interview, because of rumours that he was senile and incapable of coherent speech or thought. Botha smiled and said, “I thank you that I had the opportunity to say I am not yet (non) compos mentis. Sometimes people think I am, but I know of other people who are not compos mentis in South Africa. And I will not discuss them” (iafrica.com, 2006/05/12).
Asked if he had ever read Nelson Mandela’s autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom, he replied, “I read the book and decided what I think about it, and I still think the same.” When pressed to give his opinion of it, he replied, with masterful understatement, “I don’t think it’s one of the best books in the world.”
During question time, he was asked if Nelson Mandela would have been released when he was if he (P.W.) had still been in power. He replied that he had given Mandela an opportunity to be released from jail - if he would renounce violence. “I told him to renounce violence, which he did not do. He kept himself in jail at that stage.”
P.W., like many conservative whites in SA, is a Protestant, though this is by no means the same as saying he is a truly converted man. But even so, he is of a generation which, because of the Protestantism in which it was steeped, was a more moral, decent generation. As I wrote in my article, “The Truly Greatest Africans of All Time”, in March last year: “Although it would make liberals, Reds, and their fellow-travellers livid with rage, former South African State President P.W. Botha deserves to be included, at least among the greatest South Africans. For he was eminent in point of attainments and achievement, and exhibited signal excellence in an important work. Under his leadership, South Africa made great strides in dismantling the apartheid legislation - but Botha was adamant that Communist terrorist organisations such as the ANC, SA Communist Party and others should not be unbanned. “Die Groot Krokodil” (Afrikaans for “the Big Crocodile”), as he was known to friend and foe alike, took a bold, giant leap; but he would not go further and hand SA over to Marxist murderers. In this he was perfectly right, he had the best interests of SA’s citizens at heart. But for this he was betrayed by members of his own party.” (go to the Bible Based Ministries website and click on “SA Update” to read the entire article).
At the launch, P.W. spoke of visiting the Second World War graves of South African soldiers in Europe, and of the supposed tomb of Christ in Jerusalem - “the One who stood up and secured life for us.” He said: “Our beloved country, you are a country of the future as long as we believe in the Man who conquered the grave.” Indeed, this is the only hope for SA’s millions: turning from sin to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Christians should pray for P.W. Botha, that in his old age he would truly seek the Lord, and be converted, if he is not already. These are times, tragically, when very, very few are true Christians in our country. Cry, the Beloved Country indeed.
P.W. touched on the current situation in SA. And in a very moving part of his speech he said: “I say… that thousands of young people are in foreign countries, instead of giving their attention to South Africa as they ought, then there must be something wrong. If there is something wrong, it is our duty to find out what is wrong and to take each others’ hand and stand up and say South Africa belongs to us through the grace of God. And we will try to maintain it because South Africa is a beautiful country, South Africa is a good country. It only needs good people, competent people. It needs skilled people. It needs people that want to serve it. And my message to you today is, come let us learn to serve South Africa.”
Moving words. And yet who can blame the thousands of white South Africans now living in foreign countries? What future is there for them here? The highest crime rate on earth, no jobs, no real future. Yes, if only the ANC government could come to its senses and see that this country truly belongs to all who live in it, black and white, it truly is a beautiful country, with such vast potential. But alas, our Marxist rulers do not want to serve SA. They want to rape it. They are in power solely for what they can get out of it. They are greedy, corrupt, immoral.
I highly recommend that all who are interested in being well-informed about the terrible situation of SA today obtain this interview. It can be purchased for R130 from: www.pwbotha.com.
SA DENIES ASYLUM TO ZIMBABWEAN OPPOSITION MP
Roy Bennett, a white Zimbabwean and leading member of that country’s opposition party, recently applied for political asylum in South Africa. Not long ago Bennett spent months in a filthy Zimbabwean jail. He fled Zimbabwe after an article in the State-run Herald newspaper linked him to the discovery of an arms cache and an alleged plot to topple the government of Robert Mugabe. He applied for asylum because he believed his life was in danger in Zimbabwe, a claim supported by Amnesty International.
When he applied for asylum, a spokesman for SA’s Home Affairs Department said the department was processing a backlog of 110 000 refugee applications. And yet all of a sudden, it was announced that Bennett’s application had been refused.
Bennett himself stated that he believed SA’s decision was linked to its efforts not to be seen to be endorsing international criticism of the Mugabe regime. He said that if he had been granted asylum, SA would be openly admitting that there is a problem in Zimbabwe. (The Witness, May 26, 2006).
In this he was correct. SA has bent over backwards to tacitly support Mugabe and his tyranny in neighbouring Zimbabwe. The world expresses its surprise at this, when in fact the facts are really all too obvious: SA and Zimbabwe are both governed by Marxists, the ruling parties of both countries are old allies, they both waged a terrorist war against the previous white governments of Rhodesia (as it was then called) and South Africa, and the cold reality is that the SA government has no ideological or moral objection to what Mugabe is doing in Zimbabwe. Birds of a feather flock together. When under pressure, these old “comrades” close ranks and prop each other up. It’s the same pattern seen throughout black Africa.
South Africa lost no time in granting asylum to the Marxist Roman Catholic priest Jean-Bertrand Aristide of Haiti, a dictator and gruesome terrorist who now lives the high life at South African taxpayers’ expense (close to a million Rand a year, according to reports). Again, another ideological comrade. But when Roy Bennett of Zimbabwe applies for asylum, it is refused. When will the world wake up and see that South Africa under the ANC is under a radical Marxist regime no less than Zimbabwe?
Even the ANC’s own allies in SA are warning that the country is heading for a dictatorship:
SOUTH AFRICA ON ITS WAY TO A ZIMBABWE-STYLE DICTATORSHIP, WARNS THE TRADE UNION MOVEMENT
Isn’t it great when the thugs in the ruling tripartite alliance start hurling accusations at each other? Any weakening of the alliance is a good thing for the country.
The tripartite alliance consists of the ANC, the SA Communist Party (SACP), and Cosatu (the Congress of SA Trade Unions). This is the ungodly trio that rules South Africa. We have no time for trade unions of any sort, and Cosatu disgusts all right-thinking South Africans. But for once it said something truthful. As the succession struggle (about who will replace Thabo Mbeki as the next president) continues to rage within the ANC, Cosatu warned on May 25 that South Africa, under President Mbeki, was drifting towards a Zimbabwe-style dictatorship! The Cosatu General Secretary, Zwelinzima Vavi, said: “The main concern of the committee centres on signs that we may be drifting towards dictatorship. This appears in the use of state institutions in narrow factional fights…. The committee expressed concern about the combination of many processes to marginalise any opposition.” Later he added: “There are just too many things that tell you that in fact we may be on our way to the Zimbabwean crisis in the long run, because that’s exactly how it started” (The Mercury, May 26, 2006).
For all practical purposes we already have a dictatorship: the dictatorship of the ANC/SACP/Cosatu alliance. But other than that, these comments are very true. This is exactly the situation in SA now.
Vavi said the signs of this dictatorship included: the SA Broadcasting Corporation withdrawing a critical documentary on Mbeki (and we could add, refusing to screen the P.W. Botha interview as well!); the stifling of internal debate; intimidation of journalists by government officials; and the purging of government officials seen as supporters of ANC Deputy President Jacob Zuma.
He said: “A frightening culture has developed in the ANC of cutting corners and not only to ignore internal democratic processes but to be contemptuous of them.”
Cosatu stated that the ANC’s National Executive Committee, the highest decision-making body between conferences, was dominated by Mbeki’s favourites.
Vavi also said that Cosatu would discuss whether to back the SA Communist Party if that organisation decided to go it alone in the next elections! He said the ANC was facing its worst crisis in years.
Let not our readers assume, from the above, that the ANC could be defeated in the next election. That is not going to happen. Neither in the next election, nor the one after that, nor the one after that. It is firmly entrenched in power, regardless of any internal disputes or cracks in the monolith. But without doubt, the cracks are widening. And although it will be many long years before the ANC is ever removed, it is heartening to see the splits occurring within the tripartite alliance.
Let it also not be assumed that should the day ever come when the SA Communist Party contests an election on its own, instead of riding piggy-back on the ANC, that the ANC will then jettison its Marxist policies. That is not going to happen either. Any differences between the SACP and the ANC are usually the result of the fact that the SACP holds on to old-style Communism, whereas the ANC follows the new-style Communism, or what can be called Gramscian Communism: i.e. Communism by another name (”democracy”!). If the ANC and SACP ever parted ways, they would be offering two versions of Communism to the country; and as things stand now, the ANC’s version would continue to win. Of the two, it is the more deadly version, because it is not perceived for what it really is by the majority.
MINEWORKERS’ UNION PRESIDENT SLAMS CHRISTIANS
Senzeni Zokwana, the president of the country’s largest trade union, the National Union of Mineworkers, dismissed criticism of Jacob Zuma’s sexual encounter with an HIV-positive woman by saying of his union: “We are not Christians. We don’t listen to the Ten Commandments and we don’t have to listen when Christians tell us adultery is wrong. We also don’t need Christians to tell us who our leaders should be. We know who our leaders are” (The Witness, May 31, 2006).
In a country that claims to be over 75% “Christian”, this was an extraordinary statement. Not that 75% of the country’s inhabitants truly are Christians, of course; this is just what they claim to be. The vast majority are anything but. The point, however, is that those in positions of power within the ruling ANC/SACP/Cosatu Alliance (and the National Union of Mineworkers is part of Cosatu, the umbrella trade union body, and thus part of the ruling alliance) are making it very, very clear what they think of Christians, and of Christianity. This is just the latest broadside against Christians from the ruling camp. It reveals again the seething hatred of the powers that be towards Christians, and Christianity.
WITCHDOCTORS DEMAND THE RIGHT TO HUNT RARE ANIMALS FOR MAGIC POTIONS
These days they’re called “traditional healers”. They used to be called witchdoctors, and they still should be. They use dubious potions and “consult the spirits.” And now the chairman of the Traditional Healers’ Association of SA (yes, there really is such an organisation in the New SA) says that sangomas (witchdoctors) must be allowed access into protected areas to hunt protected animals so as to make their muthi (potions)! (The Witness, May 27, 2006).
He made this statement following the recent court appearances of a sangoma and five others after police searched her home in Pietermaritzburg. Police found the skins of a lion, leopard, puff adder, and water leguaan, and the large shell and intestines of a 60-year-old Giant Seychelles tortoise. The 100 kg tortoise had been stolen from the Natal Zoological Gardens near Pietermaritzburg. Tortoise fat is burnt to supposedly chase away evil. Lions, leopards, and puff adders are very popular with witchdoctors because they are viewed as powerful creatures, and thus their body parts make powerful medicine.
He claimed that as people’s lives take precedence over animals, witchdoctors should be allowed to obtain the animals, and use various parts of their bodies in their potions, so as to help those who are ill.
No decision has been taken yet by the authorities. But given the fact that witchdoctors who belong to the Traditional Healers’ Association are already registered with the SA Health Department as licenced professionals, we would not be surprised if permission was ultimately granted to them to hunt rare animals for their muthi. Yes, you read that right: under the Traditional Health Practitioners Act 35 of 2004, “traditional healers” are required to register their practices and acquire licences; then they may operate as licenced professionals! (The Southern Cross, March 22 to 28, 2006).
This is the supposedly enlightened, progressive SA of the ANC! In the good old days when SA was governed by conservative, Protestant whites, such a demand would not even have been made, for no witchdoctor would expect to get anywhere by the making of it. Not only that, but that same white government built excellent hospitals and clinics for the millions of black people in the country, including the largest hospital in the southern hemisphere. Today, under a Marxist black government, witchdoctors are registered as “health professionals”, and the once-world-renowned hospitals are in a state of virtual collapse. Four out of five South Africans (blacks) use the services of a sangoma. And according to a study conducted at the GaRankuwa Hospital in Pretoria, between 10 000 and 20 000 South Africans die every year from “poisoning by traditional medicines.” Not only that, but the dead bodies of children are often discovered without body parts such as lips, eyelids and private parts, which are removed for use in witchdoctors’ potions and rituals! (As stated by Doctors for Life, and quoted in The Southern Cross, March 22 to 28, 2006).
And yet we’re constantly told about the “great strides” SA has supposedly made under the ANC.
Makes you think, doesn’t it?
BLOODY BEACH RITUALS
Durban, South Africa’s busiest port city, is world-renowned as a holiday destination. Its sunny climate, its beaches lapped by the warm Indian Ocean, the fact that it is the gateway to the exciting province of KwaZulu-Natal, all combine to make it a favourite for people from around the world. I spent much of my childhood in Durban, visiting grandparents and other relatives, swimming in the sea and playing on the clean, beautiful beaches. It is still a fascinating city, a kaleidoscope of Indian, Zulu, English and Afrikaner cultures.
But there are constant reminders, nowadays, that this is very much a Third World African city now. In recent times, an increasing number of bizarre African witchcraft rituals, involving the cruel butchering of animals, have been taking place on Durban’s famous beaches.
No one could have got away with this when South Africans of European descent governed South Africa, and Durban was a First World city, properly governed and maintained. But SA’s present leaders have no problem with such superstition and barbarity. Durban, or eThekwini as it is often referred to now, is very much a part of the Third World now, with all the attendant savagery and barbarism.
A resident of Durban said in May, “There are many days where we find chicken heads, innards, wings and legs lying on the beach. About three weeks ago, we found three goats’ heads with daggers through each skull. Have you seen a goat being slit open over and over with a blunt knife or a conch shell? The innards drop down. It looks like a weird jellyfish and is left to roll in the high water. They take the carcass and leave the head on the sand” (Weekend Witness, May 20, 2006).
Residents of flats overlooking the beach say they now often see goats being dragged out of car boots on to the beach, where they are then killed. They find chickens buried up to their necks in the sand and burnt alive, or dismembered, with the carcasses just left there to rot. And the people committing these deeds appear to be in a trance when they do so.
The slaughter of chickens on the beach occurs daily, usually at night, and then beachgoers find the remains in the mornings. Candles are also used in the rituals, and lately the practice has been to stick sewing needles in the candles so that people cannot pick them up. It is only a matter of time before some child, happily running across the sand, is going to be very badly injured.
An elderly white woman who has bravely confronted the ritualists has been shot at, threatened at knifepoint, stoned, cursed, and called a “white pig.” Of course, this is all typical behaviour for many blacks in SA nowadays, as they give vent at any opportunity to their blatant hatred for whites.
And of course, this kind of disgusting behaviour does wonders for the tourism industry. As one local remarked, “I have been present when international tourists have seen chickens dismembered in front of them and have run from the beach yelling Satan! Satan!” Well, satanic it certainly is. But this is the reality of the South Africa we now live in. We are governed by men and women who make regular trips to witchdoctors themselves, to consult them about everything from their illnesses to their love lives. They are not going to crack down hard on this kind of thing. No wonder the lifeguards are no help. As one person said, “The lifeguards have been intimidated. They are too frightened to take on these people.” This is also true of the Metro Police, and the city’s cleaning staff, who are paid extra to clean up the remains of the slaughtered animals.
South Africa’s black tribes have always been steeped in witchcraft and superstition. When white Protestants ruled the country, these things were held in check. Now they are all coming out into the open, defiantly and aggressively. The devil is having a field day. Only the light of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, faithfully proclaimed by true men of God, could, if God so wills, roll back the cloud of darkness. But alas, we see precious little evidence of the true Gospel being preached. The fields are white unto harvest! Pray for the Lord of the harvest to send forth labourers into this dark, dark place!
BLACK JUDGE SLAMS KILLINGS OF WHITE FARMERS
Occasionally, there is a bit of good news. We were encouraged to read the comments of black Judge President Vuka Tshabalala when he sentenced a black man to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of a white farmer’s wife. He said that farm killings have racial overtones that are disturbing, and they give the country a bad name. He said that farmers produce the food we eat, and rear the cattle for meat. If they are killed it affects the economy negatively. He said that there are no factors that could mitigate the brutality of repeatedly stabbing a fleeing woman (she was stabbed over 30 times). “This is the most savage and brutal killing one can think of,” he added (The Witness, May 31, 2006).
He also said that when he was in New Zealand, he watched a TV show about South African farm killings. “White people in New Zealand think that people in South Africa are brutal people who kill farmers. This is bad for the country, bad for the economy,” he said. Very true - and it’s not just white people in New Zealand, but the world over. If black Africans ever want to shake off the perception that much of the rest of the world has of them as brutal savages to whom life is cheap, then Africa’s rulers are going to have to start clamping down hard on the criminality and brutality that characterises their countries. Tragically, there is no sign that this is going to happen anytime soon. We are buoyed by the comments of Judge President Tshabalala. He is at this time a lone voice in the wilderness, and we salute him for saying what he did. O if there were only many, many more like him!
SOME USEFUL WEBSITES
Just so that our readers know there are other websites out there, maintained by various organisations, groups, etc., which are seeking to warn the world about the dangers faced by white South Africans today, here is a short list. Please note: we certainly do not endorse everything about these group and organisations, and most do not even claim to be Christian. We simply mention them here for documentation purposes, because they contain very useful factual information on what is happening in South Africa. They provide a factual counter-balance to the propaganda and lies emanating from the liberal press in SA and internationally.
